The IUSD Board of Education is seeking a visionary educational leader who is collaborative, approachable and community-minded.

In fact, these are just a few of the characteristics that Irvine’s next superintendent should have, according to input from the community and staff. Leadership Associates, the executive search firm that was tapped to assist with the selection process, recently met with local stakeholders and held a subsequent open forum to compile a list of the desired personal and professional qualities for a new schools chief. That list is now part of a four-page job description that can be accessed by clicking here. In December, Superintendent Gwen Gross announced that she would retire at the end of this school year, prompting the board to initiate its comprehensive search for her successor. Now that an official job description has been published, qualified candidates are encouraged to review the application requirements and submit their materials to Leadership Associates by 5 p.m. on Feb. 22. The board will conduct interviews on March 10. For details on the application process, including requirements and contact information, click here. Or visit www.leadershipassociates.org.
