The 23rd annual Astounding Inventions contest, presented by Greenberg Traurig LLP and the Irvine Valley College Foundation, will be held this Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Irvine Valley College’s Hart Gymnasium. Established to promote student interest in math and science, Astounding Inventions annually showcases and awards the creative inventions of Irvine and Tustin students in kindergarten through the eighth grade. Those who attend on Saturday will not only get to see hundreds of inventions submitted by some pretty talented students, they'll also have an opportunity to tour the Cal State Long Beach Mobile Science Museum, look through a solar telescope, experience an earthquake simulation, check out the O.C. Sheriff’s Department’s bomb squad robot and view a real human brain. The Orange County Register has the story here.
