Paul Mills, IUSD’s longtime director of Alternative and Adult Education, has been named an Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators. Mills, who also serves as principal of Creekside High School, was nominated for the honor in the category of “continuation/educational options administrator” for ACSA’s Region 17, which includes Orange County. He’ll go on to compete for the same recognition at the state level. Here’s what IUSD Superintendent Gwen Gross wrote in nominating Mr. Mills. “In his tenure of 22 years as Director of Alternative and Adult Education for the Irvine Unified School District, Paul Mills has been a pillar of leadership, ingenuity, tenacity and problem-solving, inspiring his colleagues and our student population to strive for excellence.” Established in 1971, the Association of California School Administrators serves more than 16,000 school leaders.
