IUSD Teachers and Administrators Named Outstanding Arts Educators

2019 IUSD OCMAA Honorees

Seven IUSD teachers and Plaza Vista’s principal have received the 2019 Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA) award.  Congratulations to the following recipients:

  • Samantha Gardner – Portola High School Dance Teacher
  • Katherine Findlay – Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher (grades 4-6)
  • Adrienne Larsen – Elementary Vocal Music Teacher (grades 4-6)
  • Karen Sposato – Elementary Music Teacher (grades 4-6)
  • Rebekah Scott – Sierra Vista Middle School Secondary Vocal Music Teacher
  • Vicki Artiano – Creekside High School Art Teacher
  • James Parker – Plaza Vista School Principal
  • Tina Glander Peterson – Irvine High School Director of Choirs also received the Irene Schoepfle Life Time Achievement Award in Music Education 

Sponsored by OCMAA, the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and the Orange County Department of Education, the OCMAA awards program annually spotlights exemplary teachers and administrators who oversee instrumental, vocal, theater, dance and visual arts programs at schools throughout the county.  2019 recipients were honored on May 9 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
