The Orange County Register posted a couple of stories on its website this week involving IUSD’s high schools. Samantha Schaefer reports that Woodbridge High School’s award-winning percussion ensemble, currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, will compete next month at the WGI World Championships Percussion Scholastic Concert World in Dayton, Ohio. Meanwhile, Irvine sports columnist Tim Burt has a nice read about University High baseball coach Chris Conlin, who, while on leave for cancer treatment, was recently asked to throw out the first pitch for a game against Northwood High.
