Board unanimously approves Terry Walker's appointment as superintendent

The IUSD Board of Education on Tuesday voted unanimously to appoint Terry Walker as the district’s next superintendent, prompting a round of applause from the audience.

Walker, who currently serves as assistant superintendent in charge of Human Resources, will take on the role July 1, pending contract approval. Board members had vetted a number of qualified candidates with the assistance of an executive search firm before announcing their selection March 11. Walker will succeed Dr. Gwen Gross to become the seventh superintendent in the history of IUSD, which was established in June 1972.
