Surveys

IUSD is dedicated to fostering open, two-way communication with our community. Surveys play a crucial role in this effort, providing us with valuable insights into your experiences and needs. Your feedback directly influences how we enhance the quality of the supports and services we offer. We appreciate your participation and are committed to using your input to drive continuous improvement and better serve our students, families, and staff.

Focus:
The Annual Survey tells us what is important to our families, students and staff. Your feedback is essential in helping the District identify areas where we are excelling and areas where we need to improve.  Some of the survey topics include:

  • Parent/guardian engagement
  • The teaching and learning environment at your child’s school
  • Bullying
  • Homework
  • Mental health and student stress levels
  • School climate
  • Your child’s overall educational experience

The Annual Survey is available in multiple languages and responses are anonymous.

Audience:
Parents, guardians, students, and staff

How the Results are Used:
Schools use survey responses to meet the unique needs of their communities. The IUSD Board of Education, the Superintendent's leadership team, and District staff also review and use them to continually improve how we serve students and families across our district.

Frequency of the Survey:
This survey is completed once every school year starting in January.

2023-24 District Highlights:

  • Student Services staff reviewed every survey submission, comment, and District and school-level data. This information was shared with the IUSD Board of Education District leadership, principals, and staff.
  • Similar to prior years, the Annual Survey data continues to help IUSD identify annual goals, take action on those goals, and measure progress on academic achievement, school climate, and parent engagement as part of the 10-month LCAP process. Based on this data, we align our budget and educational goals, while being accountable to our community.
  • By understanding your concerns and priorities, we continue to make informed decisions that lead to improved student outcomes. Your input helps to identify areas that are important for providing students with the highest quality educational experience we can envision at both the school and District levels.

Focus:
California school districts are required to develop transportation plans each year and receive feedback from stakeholders.

The plan must describe transportation services currently offered by the district, focusing on the following:

  • Prioritizing students in Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 6 and low-income students
  • Accessibility for students with disabilities and homeless youth
  • Providing free transportation to unduplicated pupils (students who are low socio-economic, English learners, or foster youth)

The survey is available in multiple languages.
