Medical Advisory Board
The Irvine Unified School District Medical Advisory Board is a unique committee of local medical professionals who work together to promote mutual respect and interaction between the Irvine Unified School District and the health care community. This committee, established in January of 2007, is comprised of approximately 20 physicians and other health service professionals who represent a broad range of specialties. This distinguished body meets throughout the year with the superintendent, district administrators and district nurses to review current medical challenges as they pertain to the education, physical and mental well-being of all students in the district, preschool through grade twelve. In addition, the IUSD Medical Advisory Board is proactive in sharing the latest research on complex issues and new ways to promote preventative health strategies among our youth as well as having a commitment to creating and maintaining school environments that promote and protect children's health, well-being and ability to learn by supporting healthy eating and physical activity.
