The Portola Springs Elementary School site opened in the fall of 2015. The school is located in the Portola Springs development at the intersection of Portola Parkway and Portola Springs.
Project Description
Portola Springs Elementary School, at full capacity, can accommodate 1,000 kindergarten through sixth grade (K-6) students. Approximately 850 students will be housed in permanent classrooms and the remaining 150 students are planned in relocatable classroom buildings. School amenities include playing fields, hard courts, kindergarten playground area, parking lots, driveways for student drop-off/pick-up zones, a lunch shelter, trash enclosure, and associated infrastructure. A child care center would be operated on the School grounds by the City of Irvine as part of the Irvine Child Care Project. School construction began in 2014, and will open Fall of 2015.
