EMPLOYEE JUDICIAL AND OFFICIAL APPEARANCE LEAVE OF ABSENCE

BOARD POLICY - 4162

Employees shall be entitled to leave for up to ten (10) working days without loss of pay to appear in court to serve as a juror, as a witness other than as a litigant, or to respond to an official order from duly authorized government agencies.  At the discretion of the Superintendent or designee, employees may receive pay for longer service, if selected for a jury trial.

Any compensation received for appearances as a witness or for serving as a juror shall be endorsed over to the District, so that the employee's compensation for any days of absence for the above purposes shall be equal to his regular compensation.
