By narrowly defeating Santa Monica High on Jan 21, the Woodbridge students earned an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they’ll compete in the National Science Bowl finals in late April. The team, coached by biology teacher , features student members Tobin Holcomb, Will Hwang, Victor Zheng, Nathan Park and Captain Dillon Zhi. Coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Bowl is a round-robin, double-elimination tournament that challenges high school students with questions about chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, astronomy and other science disciplines. More than 20,000 students participated this year in 105 regional competitions at both the high school and middle school levels, with the winners advancing to the national stage.
