Students kept indoors following tornado warning

The Irvine Police Department has confirmed that a tornado warning has been declared for the area based on current weather conditions. At this time, IUSD students are being kept indoors until dismissal. There has been no change to the dismissal time or practice. UPDATE:  According to the National Weather Service, a tornado warning has been issued for the Irvine area.  This means radar maps detected a circular air flow, though no tornado was actually spotted. The warning remains in effect until 1:30 p.m., and all students and staff are to remain inside the building until the warning expires. Dismissals should proceed as normal.
