A blown transformer near Alton Parkway and Creek Road was blamed for a widespread power outage that impacted schools Tuesday. Lights, telephones and Internet services were disrupted at a number of IUSD sites, including Stone Creek, Eastshore, Lakeside, South Lake, Woodbridge, Plaza Vista, Northwood High, Oak Creek, Meadow Park, Greentree, Culverdale, Bonita Canyon and the District Office. UPDATE: As of 11 a.m., power had been restored at most schools.
