CTE pathway options

Elective course selection season is approaching, and although this time can be overwhelming for many students and families, we have outlined various course options that may be available at your school. Among these options are Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, which offer an exciting opportunity to explore interests, gain real-world skills and prepare for future success.

CTE pathways are designed to align students' interests with college, career and life readiness. These pathways, which can be elective courses, teach valuable skills that students can carry into the workforce or higher education. They help build a foundation of practical knowledge that makes students stand out to college admissions officers and future employers. For those planning to attend a two or four-year university, CTE courses can add an edge to applications by demonstrating commitment to a specific area of interest.

CTE helps equip students with tools for success in every area of life. These pathways, which can be elective courses, often include hands-on learning, collaboration and problem-solving, all of which prepare students for the challenges they’ll face after high school.
