Parent Information Night for K-6 Independent Study Families

IUSD will host a blended learning information night for parents of students entering grades K-6 interested in Independent Study options on Wednesday, July 19 from 6-7 p.m. at the Creekside Learning Center.  During this meeting, attendees will learn more about the new blended learning option, its implementation and benefits, including enhanced guidance, support and enrichment for independent study families.

IUSD recently announced that the San Joaquin Elementary School, formerly known as Irvine Home School, will transition to a fully blended learning model beginning in the fall. Kindergarten through 6th grade students in this independent study model will complete coursework through both virtual curriculum and offline coursework, and attend weekly, in-person workshops for content support, and collaborative activities.  Blended learning courses are aligned to state standards and are of equivalent instructional minutes and rigor as the in-person course option.

For more information about the blended learning option and IUSD’s transition from Irvine Home School to San Joaquin Elementary School, please contact Racquel Nedden, Online Learning Coordinator at
