High School Theater

Classes in theater are offered at each of the District's five comprehensive high schools. Courses are offered from a beginning to advanced level. These classes introduce the beginning students to the many aspects of theater Arts: Play analysis, scene preparation, action, direction, and line memorization. In the upper level classes, the students will refine and expand the development of their acting skills and participate in the directing and acting in school performances.

The Irvine Unified School Districts theater productions are well known for their quality and maturity throughout the County. They have received Macy's, Cappies, and Orange County Department of Education awards and acclaim for excellence in musical theater. The high school theater teachers are involved in numerous projects at local colleges and community theaters. They are well known for their ability to create wonderful productions while developing the talents and gifts of their students.
