Wellness Education
Instruction in wellness-related topics shall be supported by physical education, health services, nutrition services, psychological and counseling services, and a safe and healthy school environment.
Staff members, employees, and adults on campus shall be encouraged to model good choices relative to nutrition and fitness, both for the benefit of students and for the enhancement of their own well-being.
Family and Community Outreach
The Superintendent shall designate a coordinator who will work with key parents to develop strategies that promote sound nutrition, health, wellness, and fitness practices in family and community settings. Specific methods shall include but not be limited to:
- Individual physical fitness reports
- Newsletters, brochures, web sites
- Parent education opportunities
Coordination
The Superintendent shall designate a coordinator(s) who will work with key stakeholders to:
- Monitor to ensure implementation of the Student and Staff Wellness Policy and other wellness-related policies
- Establish indicators to measure success of the district's wellness and wellness-related policies
- Recommend changes to the Student and Staff Wellness Policy and other wellness-related policies, as necessary
