BOARD POLICY - 3270
The Board of Education recognizes that the district may own personal property which is unusable, obsolete, or no longer needed by the district. The Superintendent or designee shall arrange for the sale or disposal of district personal property in accordance with the elements of this policy and the requirements of state law.
- The Board shall approve the recommended disposition of district personal property by a majority vote of all members present at a regular meeting or a special meeting called for that purpose. The Board shall sell the property to the highest responsible bidder or shall reject all bids, or in the alternate, authorize the sale of the property by public auction.
- If the Board finds that the property is of insufficient value to defray the costs of arranging a sale, the property may be disposed of according to the appropriate method, including disposal by dumping, by donation, or by mutilation/destruction.
