Timeline

Education Code section 5019.5 requires school districts that elect board members by trustee area to adjust the trustee area boundaries following each decennial federal census using population figures validated by the Population Research Unit of the Department of Finance, if the trustee area populations have adjusted by 10 percent or more.  The District has reviewed the adopted trustee area plan and determined that adjustment of the trustee area boundaries is required based on the results of the 2020 census.  The following is the proposed timeline for adjusting the trustee area boundaries:

  • November 16, 2021 Board Meeting - Presentation regarding mapping criteria
  • December 14, 2021 Board Meeting - Adoption of Mapping Criteria Resolution
  • January 18, 2022 Board Meeting - Presentation and Discussion of Draft Maps
  • February 1, 2022 Board Meeting - Discussion, Amendment of Map(s) if needed, if not Selection of Final Map
  • Optional February 16, 2022 Board Meeting - Selection of Adjusted Trustee Area Map
  • March 1, 2022 - State Required Deadline to Adopt Adjusted Trustee Area Map
