IUSD Schools Excel at OCJEA Journalism Competition

Orange County Journalism Education Association (OCJEA) competition

In a display of resounding journalistic skill, IUSD schools dominated the Orange County Journalism Education Association (OCJEA) competition, affiliated with the Southern California Journalism Education Association (SCJEA). At the event, student journalists had a remarkable competition, winning in several categories and qualifying for the State Competition in April.

The Northwood Howler, the news outlet of Northwood High School, won the News Sweepstakes for the second consecutive year. Portola High School's Yearbook also won the Yearbook Sweepstakes title for the second consecutive year.

Additionally, Woodbridge High School's student publication, the Golden Arrow, took home the prestigious Best of Show, Division 1 Print Edition award.

Numerous IUSD students demonstrated their exceptional skills, earning qualifications for the upcoming state competition scheduled for April 6. These students excelled in various categories:
