Accompanied by a handful of teachers and district leaders, 23 high school students from IUSD are in Sacramento today to discuss education issues with state legislators and other influential policymakers.

A pair of high school newspapers from Irvine took first and second place at this year’s Orange County Journalism Education Association Write-Offs, which were held March 2 at Fullerton College.

At a Feb. 12 award ceremony, Woodbridge High’s Academic Decathlon team learned that it placed fourth overall in the 45th annual Orange County Academic Decathlon, and that wasn't the only good news. The school also earned an invite to compete at the state competition in March.

High school textbooks recommended for adoption in IUSD will be available for public review beginning March 18. These would be the instructional materials under consideration for 2013-14, covering the content areas of English, foreign language, math, performing arts, science and social science.
