IUSD Board of Education President Lauren Brooks was awarded the Orange County School Boards Association’s highest honor – the prestigious Marian Bergeson Award. Established in 1974, the Marian Bergeson Award is presented annually to trustees who promote and enhance public education through their governing board service and community efforts.
IUSD has been awarded the 2019 Innovations in Networking Award for Educational Applications. The District received this prestigious designation for leveraging the power of high-speed broadband to transform K-12 education.

The Speak Up, We Care campaign is districtwide and designed to increase student and parent awareness and access to mental health and wellness services and resources. The Irvine Unified Council PTA (IUCPTA) will host a candidates forum for the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) Board of Education Trustee Area 2 on Wednesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at the IUSD District Office.
Loma Ridge Elementary School will be the District’s 24th elementary school and is expected to open August 2019. This state-of-the-art education facility will serve the Portola Springs neighborhood in north Irvine.
Timothy Moeller has been named new Principal of Brywood Elementary School and Sam Joo has been named new Principal of Stonegate Elementary School.
Accompanied by a handful of teachers, administrators, school board members and PTA representatives, 28 IUSD high school students recently traveled to Sacramento to discuss issues impacting education with state legislators and other influential policymakers.
