Four IUSD high school seniors were named Edison Scholars and awarded $40,000 each from Southern California Edison to pursue their dreams in science, technology, engineering or math.
Yesterday on Tuesday, March 10, IUSD students from Creekside, Irvine, Portola, University and Woodbridge high schools traveled to Sacramento to discuss issues impacting education with state legislators and other influential policy makers. Three IUSD students have been named among the top 300 scholars in the 79th Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.

More than 545 students presented an impressive array of 298 biological, physical, or engineering projects, including “Color Liquid Evaporation,” “Self-Driving Car,” “How Color Affects Memory,” “Music and Memory,” “Safe Landing,” and “Ocean Clean-up Boat.”
