IUSD Elementary Schools kicked off the first week of March with a focus on literacy, by participating in Read Across America Day.
Free lecture from well-known adolescent psychologist Dr. Jerry Weichman about the impact positive social relationships have on teenagers’ mental health and physical well-being.
The IUSD College and Career Fair is Monday, March 11 at Irvine High School in the gymnasium from 6-8 p.m.  This free event is open to the public and students of all ages.

Five IUSD students have been named among the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.
USD is the only school district in Orange County to have four schools named 2019 California Distinguished Schools. Irvine and Woodbridge high schools, and Rancho San Joaquin and Sierra Vista middle schools all received this prestigious designation.
Students from Creekside, Irvine, Northwood, Portola, University and Woodbridge high schools, traveled to Sacramento to discuss issues impacting education with state legislators and other influential policymakers.
Now in its 33rd year, IUSD’s Teacher of the Year program recognizes exceptional instructors at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
IUSD announced four Teachers of Promise, which goes to first- or second-year instructors, who go above and beyond, while demonstrating professional curiosity and an unbridled enthusiasm for teaching. 
IUSD is pleased to announce that Christina Pierson has been named Principal of Stone Creek Elementary School and will begin her new role on July 1.
