IUSD recently held its first Student Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting for the 2023-24 school year. Now in its fifth year, the SAC is comprised of 3 students from each high school, including Creekside, Irvine, IVA, Northwood, Portola, University and Woodbridge. SAC members represent different perspectives on their campuses and meet with District staff three times per school year to provide feedback on IUSD programs, initiatives and priorities.
During this most recent meeting, the Career and College Readiness team, Nutrition Services Department and Sustainability team tapped the minds of our students to provide feedback on new and existing District-wide programs and initiatives. They were able to provide feedback on topics such as college and career readiness, meal services and ways to effectively recycle on campus. The SAC members also shared their key takeaways from the meeting and provided insight regarding future plans and implementation for the new initiatives.
The District is committed to involving and hearing from our students on how we can continually improve how we serve all students.
