Policies & Procedures
Turtle Rock is committed to the Irvine Unified School District's vision of providing the highest quality educational experience we can envision. With the help of parents, Providing your child with the tools for success include being sure he/she is getting plenty of exercise, good nutrition and plenty of sleep. Consistent attendance is a critical component for student success.
If your child must miss school, call the 24 hour attendance line at 949-936-6251 to report the absence.
Speaking clearly, provide the following information: 1) your name and your child's name, 2) grade level and teacher, 3) date(s) of absence, and 4) reason for absence. All absences must be cleared within three school days or will be considered unexcused. Your child cannot return to school until he/she is fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
If your child is late for school for any reason, he/she must report to the front office to allow us to change our attendance records.
Picking your child up from school:
- If you need to pick your child up early from school, you must report to the office to sign him/her out.
- Be sure you are on time to pick your child up at the end of the school day.
- Children can only be picked up by a parent or authorized person as listed on the student's emergency card.
Volunteers and Visitors:
All volunteers and visitors to Turtle Rock School must sign in and pick up a badge in the front office. When leaving school, they must sign out and return the badge.
Delivery of Forgotten Items:
Lunches, homework and other items are sometimes forgotten by students when they come to school. Music notebooks and instruments may not be delivered at the request of the music teachers. If a parent chooses to bring forgotten items to school, they must be dropped off and left in the front office. Forgotten items should not be delivered to the classroom. Students should be instructed to check in the office in case items have been delivered. Developing responsibility is important for successful students.
