VOLUNTEER
You can make a positive difference in the lives of children and families in Irvine as a School Readiness volunteer!
The School Readiness Program is seeking volunteers in the areas of:
Administrative/Office
- Provide assistance with administrative duties including data entry, collating, letter writing, making phone calls, filing and copying, among other things.
- Preferred: Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and good communication
Child Care
- Observe and monitor children's play activities
- Provide child care for children during parent education workshops (daytime and evenings)
- Organize and participate in recreational activities
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity area
Early Childhood Classroom (ECE) Aide
- Support the ECE teacher in classroom activities with preschool-age children
- Assist with regular classroom schedule: circle time, book reading, arts & crafts, journaling and fun!
- Requirement: Previous experience working with young children
Media/Marketing
- Assist in media contacts and timely updates with the community
- Market and create awareness of the program
- Create and/or update marketing materials (e.g. brochures, flyers, website, and bulletin boards)
- Preferred: Experience in graphic design, photography and/or filmmaking
Special Events
- Assist in the planning and execution of events (e.g., festivals, health faires, fundraisers, and program and community events)
- Organize and collect donations
- Publicity for the event.
- Preferred: Excellent communication skills, creativity and passion
