School Site Council
There are many opportunities for you to become involved in the educational process here at Deerfield School. By becoming involved you demonstrate to your children the importance of an education. The School Site Council (SSC), mandated under California Law, meets a maximum of six times per year. We meet in the school library at 2:45. Meetings last approximately 1 1/2 hours. For more information on participating in the School Site Council, please contact our school office.

California Education Code Section 52012 outlines the requirement for a SSC under the School Improvement Program (SIP) umbrella. The SIP supports and encourages the efforts of participating schools to improve instruction, auxiliary services, school environment, and school organization to meet the needs of all students in the school. The SSC has the major responsibility to: develop, implement, and monitor the school's SIP; review and approve the SIP budget; evaluate the overall effectiveness of the school program; and participate in Program Quality Reviews (PQR) to affirm program strengths and identify areas for growth and improvement.
