Please come join us for ELAC meetings this year. The purpose of ELAC is to:
- Advise the principal and staff about the school’s plan for educating English learners,
- Advise the principal and staff about conducting a needs assessment which includes the opportunity for all parents to submit their ideas and opinions about what students need.
- Advise the principal and staff on how to communicate more effectively with parents who may not be proficient in English.

| California Education Code Section 62002.5 and Consolidated Programs Test Item 9a in the Coordinated Compliance Review Training Guide require that and ELAC be established at each school where there are 21 or more identified English Learner (EL) students. The responsibilities of this committee are to advise the school on various EL issues, services and programs and to elect a representative to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) |
