Deerfield Elementary School named "No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School of Excellence!" 2007 |

Deerfield Elementary is the only school in Irvine and one of 27 schools in California to receive the U.S. Department of Education "No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School of Excellence" honor in 2007! The award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. Department of Education and is given to schools that challenge students to perform at high academic levels and make significant progress in closing the achievement gap between highest and lowest performing students. On November 12, 2007,our Principal, Ms. Kathy McKeown, and Speech Pathologist, Janelle Willoughby, received a special plaque and flag honoring our school at a banquet in Washington D.C.
