School Readiness Program
The School Readiness Program's mission is to work collaboratively with both parents and professionals to provide an array of services which help families and early childcare providers develop skills that build strong families with healthy children, ages 0-5, who are learning and ready for school.
In order to achieve this, we offer a comprehensive program emphasizing social/emotional development, cognitive development and physical development. Our team of skilled professionals includes Early Childhood Education Specialists, Nurses, a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and a program coordinator/Early Learning Specialist.
In October 2000, the Irvine School Readiness Program (SRP) was developed in order to implement the Orange County Children and Families Commission's First Strategic Plan focusing on outcomes related to healthy children, strong families, school readiness, and quality of integrated service systems. For the past 9 years, the Irvine School Readiness Program has embraced an interdisciplinary team approach to child, family, and service provider education, providing services and programs designed in response to the needs of high-risk, low income, special needs and culturally diverse children in order to prevent problems related to health, academics, and family issues.
Please open our Calendar of Classes to see the wide variety of parent education, preschool classes, and drop-in activity classes for children ages birth through five.
