Dear Students and Families:
Welcome to the 2014 – 2015 school year! Our commitment at Creekside High School is to provide a safe, positive, intellectual learning environment that will empower students to become strategic thinkers, effective communicators, healthy, self-directed individuals, and contributing citizens that are prepared for college, work, and life in the twenty-first century.
As I enter into my second year as Director, I would like to continue setting high expectations for our students in regards to academic performance, maintaining positive attitudes, and committing to attendance every day. Not only will these skills be valuable to attain credits needed for graduation, they will allow students to develop habits to be successful in the post-secondary world. Committing to academics, attitude and attendance will ensure an enjoyable year for all.
We have a very exciting year planned as we finish up our 6-year report for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our report will validate all the wonderful and creative things we are doing for our students and will also guide us to continually improve and build upon our successes at Creekside High School. Not only is this process valuable for our school, it is also valuable for our students in that it is an accreditation is a perquisite for entrance into most colleges and the military. We look forward to the WASC team’s visit in March and would like all parents and students to participate in this very important process.
I encourage you all to be active in your young adult’s education. Creekside is committed to the parent, student, teachers, and staff team that will ensure the success of your student. Our partnership is essential for your students continued success. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and know that my door is always open.
I am excited for the opportunity to work with you and your student to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success. Once again, welcome to Creekside High School! I am honored to serve as your principal.
Bullying / Cyber-bullying
Creekside High School takes bullying very seriously. We teach students the values of integrity, mutual respect, personal and social responsibility, and compassion and expect demonstrations of those values on and off campus. Furthermore, every student has a right to come to a school in a hostile free environment.
Students who feel they are subject to bullying are encouraged come speak to a counselor, administrator, teacher or any adult on campus. The school is equipped to help, but needs to know in order to address issues that arise.
Here are some valuable resources for students, parents, and teachers:
One of the target areas for CHS this year is 1st period tardies. Please remember school starts at 8:20 every day . We have staff here as early as 7:30 each morning, and encourage students to arrive 10-15 minutes before the bell.
