Dear Parents,

As we all feel the effects of the economic crunch, a team approach is what’s needed to continue the wealth and enrichment of our children’s schools. I think everyone is aware that public schools are no longer FREE. We need to contribute to our schools for our valued teachers and programs. We seek your support to help provide programs vital to quality education (computer, science, librarians, counselors, in addition to music and arts). Private funds have become very critical for high performing school districts to continue to provide high quality education. With our budget cuts in education and our economy in a downfall, we, as parents, need to work as a team to ensure our childrens’ education and future. Your contribution is very essential to the devastating reductions to California. Whatever donations we receive will be applied to the needs of the school and students.

Thank you very much for your support.

Our major PTSA Programs:

Mini Grants PTSA membership donations fund our highly successful Mini Grants. Each year teachers submit requests to the Mini Grant Committee for supplemental teaching supplies and technology. Generous donations help us fund these requests.

Disaster Prep The safety of our students and staff will continue to be a priority for PTSA. Working with School Nurse Dee Knapper, Assistant Principal Melinda Fowler, and Social Science Faculty Nora Seager, our Disaster Prep Committee will again be collecting supplies and training personnel to handle potential disasters.

Grad Night PTSA Grad Night Committee creates this special evening for our graduating Seniors. Grad Night offers an opportunity to provide UNI Seniors with a safe, alcohol and drug free celebration to be held on the UNI campus.

Multicultural English Program PTSA wants all parents to be involved. In this PTSA-sponsored program English-speaking parents are paired with non or limited-English speaking parents for informal mentoring.

Counselor Night PTSA and the UNI counselors sponsor this excellent program regarding high school course selections, college requirements and career planning. Counselors meet with the parents grouped by their son's/daughter's grade level so that information presented will be pertinent and meaningful.

Chuck Keith Memorial Trojan Spirit Breakfast PTSA hosts this event in which teachers and staff invite special students to have breakfast with them.
